Let's talk about Patriarchy…I mean Barbie!
With the recent buzz surrounding the Barbie Movie of course we had to discuss it. However, this is no ordinary hyperfixation episode and Barbie is no ordinary toy. For generations Barbie has taught young girls that they can grow up to do and be anything, but is that true?
Is it possible to be authentically free in a society full of contradicting constraints and judgment?
Does a piece of plastic hold the power to shift systematic gender roles or does it fuel more unrealistic standards?
It is time for a collective shift. It is time to release the shadows of the past and see others and ourselves through a new lens of love.
